Welcome 2009!

January 5th, 2009 by lisa

We are here… Christmas and the New Year has passed and we’re now in 2009! How scary is that? lol.

Well Christmas didn’t exactly go to plan this year. I’ve had the flu since Boxing Day - I’m only just fully recovering so I’ve spent alot of time over Christmas just trying to keep warm and feeling very very tired. Plus not being able to speak for a week as I lost my voice. Do you know how annoying that is around my family!

John was really good to me whilst I was ill so I wont complain too much.

I’m still working on my new blog. It’s in the design process. I will get it sorted soon though.

I have so many great pictures of Christmas to show - it’s really annoying not being able to upload pictures at the moment.

Today, I am back at work. It’s freezing! I woke up to a small amount of snow. Most of it was on my work van which had decided to freeze too. Really not funny trying to de-ice half an inch of frozen snow from the windscreen this morning.

Oh well.

I’m looking forwards to this year. I’ve decided that this is my year for ‘Control’. I am going to take control and stop stressing over everything that doesn’t go right. I will do something about it.

I’ve even bought a new cycling machine and I am going to work my butt off this year to lose this weight I don’t want. I’ve also joined Ashley Wren’s ‘Love yourself in 2009′ class on SISTV which I’m really hoping will keep me motivated.

Biting the bullet…

December 20th, 2008 by lisa

I’m not really sure where that expression comes from - I don’t understand it but maybe I’m writing it wrong lol.

Anyway…

It’s has been soooo long since I last posted on my blog. Two reasons - firstly I now understand when people say the longer you’ve been away the harder it gets to start writing again. I always feel like I need to write down so much that I don’t have time. Well I don’t have time now so I’m just not going to write it.

Alot has happened in the last few months. Dad is still ill. We’re waiting for him to see the doctor again on 12th January at the hospital. John’s dad is on his way to Australia for Christmas (a really long story). I’ve been called into work today because Claire is off sick now. And I have still so much left to do before Christmas it’s unbelievable.

This year’s Christmas has just been a farse.  I don’t feel Christmassy at all. What with Dad being ill, having to work loads,  not having any money to do proper Christmas shopping. I’m just counting down the days to get some time off!

The second reason for not blogging…

Is that my blog just wont let me post any pictures at the moment. I can’t figure out what is wrong with it so I am considering just starting up a whole new blog. It will be so much easier and I was considering giving it a makeover anyway. I’ll think I’ll sort it out over Christmas…if I get time lol.

Plans for the nest week or so…

Tonight - Going out with the girls for a few drinks, a dance and lots of fun. I’m not driving for once so I can actually enjoy an alcoholic drink. It’s been ages since I had a proper night out.

Tomorrow - My very last day off before Christmas in which I have to get everything sorted.

Monday - Work followed by a Christmas drink with some other friends if we can actually finalise some plans.

Tuesday - Working again and Christmas food shopping.

Christmas Eve - Working a hlaf day and then cleaning house. Last bits of present wrapping and out for a curry with John’s mum and family.

Christmas Day - There will only be my family round now for Christmas dinner. John’s cooking with some help from me.

Boxing Day - Dinner at Mum’s with my Nan. Hopefully just going to a ncie relaxing day before…

Saturday - Back at work. John’s Dad gets back sometime Saturday night too.

Sunday - Up to Sharon’s house for a whole family get-together. We do thise once a year. It’s nice to get to see everyone. Though I am probably going to be driving there.

Monday, Tuesday - Working.

New Year’s Eve - I’m off work now for 5 days yippee! We’re going round to Mum’s for a homemade curry to bring in the New Year.

Well those are my plans, so if I don’t get chance to post again until the New Year you already know what I’m going to be up to.

Have a good Christmas and see in the New Year with style!

Been quite a while…

November 8th, 2008 by lisa

since I last posted but life has been one long busy stressful pain in the backside lol.

Dad is still no better. He’s been on about 12 diferent types of medication but none seem to be working. He got another one yesterday so we will see how these go.

I was at Steph’s Indigo Mill crop last Saturday. It was great fun meeting Steph and the ladies in person. I got lots of scrapbooking done. Then we went up to a friends to celebrate Halloween. Well that was the excuse. We just ended up playing cards, eating drinking and watching the big 20:20 cricket match.

I’ve been busy creating a new project for Easy Craft Projects this month. This year we are bringing you lots of projects to keep you organised, make some gorgeous gifts and decoratre your home on a budget. I have created a planner to keep organised and record Christmas 2008. You can see how to make it here.

I haven’t taken part in the Kaboodle Doodles challenge the last couple of weeks but the other ladies have been making some great cards and things whilst I’ve been busy. The new challenge is up tomorrow morning!

I’ve also been getting a bit housewifey the last couple of weeks. We’ve been enjoying making some proper homemade food. We even took part in Gordon Ramsey’s Cookalong last Friday. I would definetly recommend those recipes as they were gorgeous!

Rememberence Day tomorrow. I will be out with the Brownies in Staveley remembering those who have lost their lives. Don’t forget to give them a few moments of thought tomorrow morning.

And it’s over!

October 16th, 2008 by lisa

I am so happy! I have no more maths to do! Some of the time I enjoyed the course but others… well I was so stressed out, not understanding alot of it, and taking it out on everyone around me.

Not any more though. The exam was yesterday and although it didn’t go too well I’m not going to dwell on it. I out my books away last night (a nice big clear space on my desk now) and I am going to get on with everything else in my life.

The weekend was nice…a cloudy day with no rain so me and John made the most of it. We went walking in Chatsworth grounds armed with cameras. We got some pretty good shots. I haven’t edited mine but I did edit one of John’s. It was this close up of the wier… and after removing the colour and increasing the contrast it is the really spectacular picture. I will add it tonight hopefully as I’m on the laptop at the moment.

Have you been keeping up with the Kaboodle Doodles challenge blog? I’m loving Andrea’s new Halloween kit and she has a Christmas one coming out soon which is so cute! Keep your eyes peeled.

I’m currently putting some papercrafting classes together for work. Hopefully people will like the idea and come along (fingers crossed). I’ll post some pictures up as soon as I can.
